Sod for the Front

Monday and Tuesday October 15 and 16

The sod was laid this morning since it was too wet yesterday - it's like carpet.

Yesterday door knobs, door stops, and towel bars were installed as was the kitchen appliances.  The house is beautiful - so very beautiful.

White Paint, Golden Brown Tile, Blue Spruce, and Black Mulch

Wednesday through Sunday October 10-14

The sprint to the finish continues!  The Corian countertop was installed in the kitchen on Wednesday and it's as lovely as I'd hoped.  The painters finished up most of the rooms but will be back to finish the garage next week.  The electrician started to install fans and light fixtures.  Tile was layed in the kitchen on the backsplash - LOVE!!!  The kitchen is so fabulous!

On Friday, Browns Nursery delivered all the plants for the landscaping and installed the trees and ornamental grass in the back.  Fred took off on Friday and planted the remainting bushes and shrubs in the front and back.  Our daughter, Grace, and her family came on Saturday to spread mulch everywhere - thank you so much guys.  :)  Big boulders were moved around by "Jim" of Brock's - he's my hero....well him and his heavy equipment.

I know why I'm not an electician.
Great room fireplace - ready for chilly days to come!
Kitchen and dining room - notice tile.

Grass Seed

Monday, Tuesday October 8 and 9

The sprint toward the finish line is on while our builder continues to amaze us!  Painters are painting the inside walls while outdoors gutters were installed and broken sidewalks replaced.  The driveway has "apron and curb" and the closets have shelves and rods.  :)

This work was done on Monday - the curb was poured and apron prepped.
Here's the fireplace painted - really pleased!
Front door with color!
Street view with apron poured.

Back grass "sprayed" in.  Should sprout in a few days.
Dining room tray ceiling and chair railing.
Thanks for stopping by!

Concrete Driveway

Thursday October 4

It finally stopped raining enough for our driveway to be poured!  The painters accomplished a lot yesterday as well - they covered and taped for protection from the white enamel paint which they spray on the woodwork.  The first coat was sprayed on all the trim boards, the fireplace mantle, crown moulding, columns, and doors.  The second coat will go on today - it's lovely.

From inside the garage!

Home Stretch

October 3, 2012

Fred and I took a trip out west so had lots of catching up to do at the house when we returned.

During our absence, painters came in and sprayed on the prime coat of paint; ceilings were textured;  laminate floor was put down in the kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms; cabinets were installed in the kitchen and baths; and tile was installed around the shower and fireplace.   The finish carpenters came in to put in baseboards, trim, fireplace mantle, and many other items.  Rain prevented the concrete from being poured for the driveway.

This week so far the finish carpenter completed his tasks and the painters have returned to do their job.  Laminate flooring was being put down in the entry and walkway.  I met with the closet guy about shelving and the landscaper about plants.

Also furnace was installed - important since it's starting to get really chilly!

Pumpkin on the porch!  It's starting to be home.  :)  Thanks for checking in!
